Musics
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:41:09 am »
Ok, So since the announcement of this project I have been extremely excited to be a part of these discussions and help shape the next digital incarnation of Shadowrun.

That being said, when this discussion opened there was some mention of music and a lot of you guys were asking for things in tune with the SNES and Sega soundtracks. It was also casually mentioned by Primetide that we have a more or less open door to submit music for this project so I offer you guys this theoretical intro track to love or hate or nitpick to death. I created this with the intro to SNES in mind and was trying to draw the same dystopian jazz noir future feel. enjoy :)

sounds really good, you should make several versions of it. sometimes as artist we shouldnt fall in love with our work because it blinds us to grow.

Thanks guys :)

I do have about 4 versions of it. That one just sounds the most cohesive. Working on a few others based on location themes: Nightclub, Rock Club, The streets, The Wilderness, Corporate Enclaves, Matrix. And some combat mixes of each. No where near done with those though. I was just excited about how the first one turned out.

I dig it, spot on.

Big fan of the Frozen Synapse soundtrack. http://www.frozensynapse.com/soundtrack.html

The artist goes by _ensnare_. You can find his other stuff on grooveshark.

Sounds very Shadowrun. I like it.

I'm working on a couple wiz tracks I plan on uploading. I'm drawing heavy inspiration from the bar songs from the Sega Genesis game. Some kind of half drum and bass, half club music vibe. We'll see how it goes.

We are very happy to hear more suggestions - we haven't got a sound artist on the team, so perhaps we can incorporate several of your suggestions.

Hi everybody!

I as a musician and composer would really like to be a part of this project.
Somehow I even like the Idea of having at some point "external" artist work incorporated (think GTA radio style). But you would still need a Audio Designer or Producer to make it all fit together somehow.

Just listened to the Frozen Synapse Track. Reminds me of Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

hear are some tunes that i think could fit in various scenarios:
(btw i have no affiliation with these bands, their labels, etc.)

Ghostland Observatory, silver city (the synth in the beginning is very snes SR reminiscent)

the Knife, heartbeats

Awolnation, Knights of shame (the first seven minutes)

gojira, embrace the world

sorry no youtube links, busy day....

I finally got around to hacking together the gist of a track.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68523855/Shadowrun2.mp3

It's a really dirty filmscore trance. Since just a proto-song it's only a minute long. Let me know if it hurts your ears; it takes forever to get the levels of everything right, and I'd rather just give everybody a taste now.

It was a fun break from working on my first dance song at my wedding in June. That song sounds very different. :)
