So that could mean the experimental Reputation system mentioned in the books could perhaps be in the profiles, so you know who might be a more reliable runner to take with you? :P

*shrugs*
i'd rather the rep was here on the boards.
the other idea i had mentioned is pretty nice, but seeing how i refuse to go to farcebook or anything like that, i won't be having much fun with that  . . doesn't mean it would not be a nice and novel idea for others to have fun with . .

I have to agree that I'd prefer if such a system wasn't located on Facebook but part of the gamesite itself. I tend to keep my online hobbies separated from my offline identity and because of that I remain off Facebook myself.

problem with hosting the images thing idea posted last page on here would be the need for massive ammounts of storage capacity . . == expensive . .
And it'd be against the social webworking idea of Web2.0 too . . not that i'd mind . .

Imagine: Not only does average Joe supply informations for almost everyone to use about their social structure - no, Shadowrunners (who are considered terrorists by most legal institutions) do it too. "Let's meet tonight for that run on the ares-lab" "Likes to use AK-98" ... hehe. But other than that, a profile page for the runners might really be a neat idea. Many games have a browser-representation of the characters already (the armory from WoW for example) and one could improve from something like that ...

Huh. Well, I know that Champions Online has the capacity to post pictures and blog entries to Facebook from within the game.

Perhaps there's an API that can be used similarly for SRO?

Rather than a tie-in mobile app, it's a lot less work to just have a mobile site. Integrated Website++

Edited this post because it sounded preachy, which is the last thing I want to be.

All you humans look alike to me ;)

Reagrding the social agmeplay- it is actaully easy to host it on our site and allow people to log in using their FB account and then cross post stuff, we just don't want to limit ourselves to facebook for the obvious reasons.
Yay for the Flaming Carrot

Of course we real humans look the same to you.
We are Johnson. We are interchangeable. We are the faceless mass of faces shown to you when stuff needs being done that we can't be bothered to deal with. The nail that stands out gets hammered in.

Also: yeah, making it a facebook login would be pretty bad i'd say  . .
Seeing how people have all manners of dumb names on facebook accounts for example . .

Doublepost because I do not want anyone to miss this one:

Matrix 2.0 ... ah, well it's SR4 after all. If we could get these kind of holographs in-game it would be awesome.

And to primetide: we gotta team up against those nasty humans like Stahlseele. He even admits that we get hammered in on a daily basis by racist cops etc. :( tough life!
